ShadyGrove Shelties is a hobby kennel located in Winston-Salem, NC.  We were pulled into the world of breeding and showing Shetland Sheepdogs through our first sheltie, Leah, who joined our family in 1988.  Through our love and fascination with Leah, we met many new friends who introduced us and taught us about the art and science of breeding shelties.  We breed on a very limited basis and our main interest has been breeding sound and beautiful dogs who can excel in the competitive conformation show ring and also be wonderful family companions.  Not every puppy is destined for the show ring and it is very important to us that the puppies we place in companion homes are well-matched to the home and loved and cared for as members of the family.  ShadyGrove shelties have also gone on to be therapy and obedience dogs as well as successful in the show ring and family home.

We breed very selectively with the focus on always improving the breed and meeting the breed standard established by the American Shetland Sheepdog Association.
